Richard Engwall is President of the Blossom Montessori School for the Deaf. In that position he is responsible for fundraising, development of grants and major gifts, oversight of the school budget and programs, advocacy, marketing, events and community relations.
Previously, Rich served for nine years as as Senior Vice President of the Pinellas Education Foundation in Largo, Florida.
Rich is also the former Director of Marketing Programs for GTE and was responsible for their professional and NCAA sports sponsorships and advertising programs throughout the Southeastern states. He also served as project director for the GTE Classic Senior PGA Tournament in Tampa. Rich was GTE's corporate spokesperson and managed their community relations and GTE Foundation philanthropic programs during his 28 years with that company.
Rich holds a bachelor's degree in Mass Communications and Public Relations from the University of South Florida in Tampa and is a graduate of the MIT-Harvard Law School Public Disputes Program. He recently served as the Public Affairs Chairman of the Consortium of Florida Education Foundations. He has served as a member of the faculty of the University of South Florida Department of Continuing Education, a member of the Board of Directors of the Mahaffey Theater Foundation, the USF/Bayboro Campus Advisory Board, and is an elder in the Presbyterian Church.
