Elaine Hampton, Classroom Assistant, Ages 6-9
Since 2005, Elaine has assisted in the teaching and growing of the children of Blossom. She shows by example that all things are possible if you never give up!
Elaine attended the Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida and graduated with Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in Illustration. Her desire is to use her talents to help and teach deaf children Art!
Growing up in a large family of three sisters, Elaine was the only one in her family who is hearing impaired. She was not born deaf, but became sick at the age of four months old with spinal meningitis.
Elaine is married to her husband William, also hearing impaired, and they have three beautiful children, Anna 11, Nicholas 9, and Rebeka 3. They are all hearing. Elaine and her family live in Largo.
She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, doing freelance art and shows, going to her deaf church, assisting the pastor as the deaf secretary at church, spending time outdoors, traveling, attending fun events, swimming and watching closed-captioned movies.
